The Kentucky Society of Washington
will once again host the Bluegrass Inaugural Ball at the Marriott
Wardman Park on January 19th, 2013. It has been named an “Editor’s Pick” by the
Washington Post in 2013, 2009 and 2005 and called "the greatest Ball
of all time."
The Ball’s Kentucky inspired menu will
be designed and created by
Chef Edward Lee,
proprietor of the acclaimed
610 Magnolia restaurant in
Louisville and an alumnus of the popular “Iron Chef America” and
“Top Chef” television programs.
The Ball will also feature an
exclusive bourbon tasting with seven legendary members of the
Kentucky Distillers' Association and its prestigious Kentucky
Bourbon Trail®. The Kentucky’s distillers that will be on-hand to
share their premium single barrel and small batch Bourbons:
Bulleit, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Wild
Turkey and Woodford Reserve.
The Bluegrass Ball will be emceed by
Phyllis George, former Miss America and First Lady of Kentucky, and
her daughter Pamela Brown, a Kentucky native and popular local TV
reporter for ABC News Channel 8.
Guests will receive gift bags of
Kentucky Proud souvenirs and products, including a special KDA
Kentucky Bourbon rocks glass to commemorate the event, Bourbon balls
and keepsake items from participating distilleries.
Ticket Holders: No hard copy tickets
will be mailed out in advance of the Bluegrass Ball 2013. Upon
arrival at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, please proceed to the
Bluegrass Ball Check-In Desk to sign in, receive your wrist band and
your seating tickets. ALL guests must show valid government issued
picture ID. All guests will be required to wear wristband to gain
access to the Bluegrass Ball and Reception.
